Ingredients
  

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Method
 

  1. Cut the cabbage into wedges.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the cabbage wedges to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Pour in the vegetable broth and season with salt, black pepper, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover the skillet and let it cook for 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and melts in your mouth.
  6. Uncover, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, and stir gently before serving.
