Boba Recipe

A delicious and chewy boba tea recipe that you can easily make at home.

Ingredients
  

Tapioca Pearls
  • 1 cup tapioca pearls black or colored
  • 4 cups water for boiling
Sweetener
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for syrup
  • 1/2 cup water for syrup
Tea Base
  • 4 cups brewed tea black or green tea
  • 1 cup milk optional for creaminess

Method
 

Prepare Tapioca Pearls
  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a large pot.
  2. Add 1 cup of tapioca pearls to the boiling water.
  3. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once cooked, remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Strain the pearls and rinse with cold water.
Make Sweetener
  1. In a small pot, combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of water.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble Boba Tea
  1. In serving glasses, add a portion of the cooked tapioca pearls.
  2. Pour brewed tea over the pearls, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
  3. Add milk if desired, and sweeten with the brown sugar syrup to taste.
  4. Stir well and serve with a wide straw.
